Donghaksa Temple 동학사
Gongju · Gyeryongsan: Gapsa & Donghaksa · Sights

A temple at the foot of Gyeryongsan known today as a training college for Buddhist nuns. The approach follows a stream through the forest and, in early April, a road lined with cherry trees. The temple is peaceful, small and set in the valley, so it suits those who like a modest and meditative place.
Because many nuns study here, visitors should stay quiet and avoid photographing people. Trails continue uphill to Eunseon Falls. Free entry in practice, parking is paid.
A visit usually fills about ninety minutes.
A taxi from Gongju takes around 40 minutes; buses from Daejeon also reach the area, so check a map app. Parking is at the village entrance. (Show a driver: 동학사)
