Geumgang Bridge 금강교
Gongju · Geum River & Sinkwan-dong · Night view
A steel truss bridge across the Geum River, built in the 1930s and now a symbol of Gongju. A walkway runs along it, so pedestrians can cross slowly and watch the fortress get closer as the lights turn on. It is mainly useful as a viewing point and as a link between the old town and the north bank.
The crossing itself takes a few minutes, but many visitors linger for photographs. No admission fee. It can be breezy and cold in winter, so dress for it.
The bridge is generally safe in the evening.
It connects the old town with Sinkwan-dong, about a 15-minute walk from the bus terminal; the old-town side has parking. (Show a driver: 금강교)
