Mir Island — Gongju Geum River & Sinkwan-dong
Photo: Korea Tourism Organization (KOGL)

A small island park in the middle of the Geum River, linked to the north bank by a short bridge. Flower beds are planted seasonally, so the scenery changes through the year, with spring blossoms and autumn colors. Walking paths circle the island and give views of the river and the fortress on the far bank.

The park is popular with families and photographers. Walking the island costs nothing. Facilities are basic, so bring water.

It is also used for events, which may change access. About fifty minutes is enough.

Getting there

A 10-minute walk from the riverside park, and a short taxi ride from the bus terminal. Parking near the bridge. (Show a driver: 미르섬)
