Yeongjin Beach 영진해변
Gangneung · Jumunjin, Yeongok & Sacheon · Parks & nature
A tidy beach between Sacheon and Jumunjin, mostly known for the long breakwater where a famous fantasy drama filmed a memorable scene. Fans line up to take photos at the end of the pier, with the open sea behind. The sand is calm, and you can fit it into a drive for about forty minutes.
In winter the water is clear and cold, and the beach is nearly empty. Facilities are modest, so plan your food elsewhere. Waves can reach the breakwater in storms, so stay off it then.
From Gangneung Station (강릉역) it is about 35 minutes by taxi, or take a bus toward Jumunjin and ask for Yeongjin (영진). Free parking is nearby.
