Sodol Adeulbawi Rock Park 소돌아들바위공원
Gangneung · Jumunjin, Yeongok & Sacheon · Parks & nature
Waves crash against dark rock formations along this short coastal park, and a boardwalk lets you walk beside them without getting wet. The centerpiece is a rock called Adeulbawi, or Son Rock, tied to a local story of a woman who prayed here and had a son. The walk is brief, about half an hour, so it fits between other stops.
Waves are most dramatic on windy days. Stay away from the edge in high swell, and keep an eye on children near the railings. A cafe is next door if you want a warm drink afterward.
From Gangneung Station (강릉역) it is about 35 minutes by taxi, or a bus to Jumunjin and then a short taxi. Parking is free.
