Haedong Culture & Art Village — Damyang Damyang Town & Juknokwon

Haedong is a cultural complex made from an old liquor factory, and the industrial bones of the building are still visible inside the exhibition rooms. The program leans toward contemporary and experimental art, with installations placed in the open spaces between the buildings, so a loop around the site takes only about an hour. Because few tourists find it, the atmosphere is calm and you can look at the work without crowds.

A small entry fee may apply, and the hours and the current show change, so confirm before you go. Pair it with a coffee in town afterward to round out the stop.

Getting there

It is on a side lane in Damyang town, about five minutes by car from the center. Check in advance whether you can park beside the building. (Show a driver: 해동문화예술촌)

Best time to visit
A weekday afternoon is the quietest time, with enough space to read the labels at your own pace.
Pair it with
Damyang Market and Seungil Restaurant are in the town center nearby, and Dambit Art Warehouse is another gallery to pair it with.
Great for
Solo travelers
Local tip
A converted brewery complex with galleries and sculpture in the courtyard. Quiet, so it makes a calm detour from the busier bamboo sights.
