Daegu Art Museum 대구미술관
Daegu · Suseongmot & Deulan-gil · Museums & exhibits
Daegu's municipal art museum shows work by local artists and rotating contemporary exhibitions in a bright, modern building. The highlight is the tall central hall where large installations are shown, giving you a sense of scale that small galleries lack. A cafe and a gift shop sit inside.
Entry to some shows is inexpensive, and the permanent collection can be viewed for less. Mondays are the usual closing day. Exhibits change often, so look at the museum's website before you go to see whether the current theme interests you.
English labels are hit and miss.
Walk about 15 minutes from Daegongwon Station on Subway Line 2, or take a short bus or taxi. The museum lot is shared with its neighbor. (Show a driver: 대구미술관)
