Near the trailhead of Apsan, this old-style restaurant serves seonji gukbap, a beef-blood and cabbage soup that is clear and mellow. The broth is cooked for hours with dried radish greens and can be seasoned at the table with chili and salt. Hikers eat it before or after climbing, and it also suits cold days.

The dining room is plain, and menus are Korean, so point to what other tables are having. It is not for people who dislike organ meat, but the flavor is gentler than many expect. Prices are low, and the owners are used to quick turnover.

Getting there

Walk 20 minutes from Anjirang Station on Subway Line 1, or take a bus to the Apsan Laundry stop. The street is narrow, so use a public lot. (Show a driver: 대덕식당)
