Gubongsan Viewpoint Cafe Street 구봉산전망대카페거리

Chuncheon · Myeongdong & Jungang Market · Night view

A winding road on the slopes of Gubongsan is lined with hilltop cafes, many with big windows and terraces facing the city and the river valley. Come around sunset to watch the sky change color and then the city lights come on, which is why this is Chuncheon's best-known night view. Most cafes have their own parking, charge normal coffee prices and focus on cakes and drinks rather than meals.

The cafes differ in style, from white Mediterranean-looking buildings to simple wooden lodges, so choose by view and window seat. Public transport barely reaches the road, and the walk is long and steep, so a taxi up and a taxi down is the practical way.

Getting there

A taxi from the old town takes about 15 minutes, and returning taxis can be hard to hail, so ask your driver to wait or use a taxi app. Cafes provide parking. (Show a driver: 구봉산 카페거리)
