Chuncheon Jungang Market 춘천중앙시장
Chuncheon · Myeongdong & Jungang Market · Shopping
This arcade-roofed market sits in the middle of the old town and sells everything from vegetables and dried fish to cheap clothes, with a row of snack stalls for grazing. Look for hotteok, fried chicken and tteokbokki, usually eaten standing or on a small stool. Stallholders are mostly older locals, and prices are often written clearly, so you can point and pay without much Korean.
A narrow side passage leads uphill to Yuklim-gogae Alley, making this a natural start for an old-town walk. The market is also a handy rain plan, since the roof covers most of the main aisles.
From Namchuncheon Station, take a city bus for about 10 minutes and get off at the Jungang-ro stop; the market entrance is visible from there. A public parking lot sits beside the market. (Show a driver: 춘천중앙시장)
