KT&G Sangsangmadang Chuncheon Art Center KT&G상상마당 춘천아트센터
Chuncheon · Uiam Lake & Samaksan · Museums & exhibits
This building was originally a children's center designed by the architect Kim Swoo-geun and has been turned into a gallery and culture space. The architecture alone is worth a look, with a strong concrete form facing the lake, and exhibitions inside are changed regularly. Depending on the season, you may find contemporary art, photography, design shows or small performances.
Some exhibitions charge a small fee and others are free, so check what is on before going. There may be limited English labels. A visit takes around 40 to 60 minutes and pairs naturally with a walk along the lake path.
Opening days and hours may change with the program.
It is about a 10-minute walk along the lakeside from Gongjicheon Recreation Area, or a taxi from Namchuncheon Station. A small car park is available. (Show a driver: KT&G상상마당 춘천아트센터)
