Wonjo Nambu Makguksu 원조남부막국수
Chuncheon · Myeongdong & Jungang Market · Meal
Makguksu is the other classic Chuncheon dish: chewy buckwheat noodles served cold with a seasoned sauce, sliced radish kimchi and a spoon of broth, or in a plain chilled soup. This shop is within walking distance of Namchuncheon Station, so many people stop here before or after a train. The usual order is bibim-makguksu, the sauce-mixed version, with a side of boiled pork if you want something heartier.
Add vinegar and mustard at the table to adjust the taste. Solo diners are common and nobody minds. Menus are in Korean, but pointing works, and food comes quickly.
Prices and hours are subject to change.
Walk about 10 minutes north from Namchuncheon Station along Chuncheon-ro. Street parking is limited, so public transport is easier. (Show a driver: 원조남부막국수)
