Jagalchi Market 자갈치시장
Busan · Nampo-dong, Jagalchi & Yeongdo · Shopping
Jagalchi is Korea's largest seafood market, a tangle of tanks, stalls and vendors beside the harbor. Shops on the ground floor and outside sell live fish, shellfish, squid and octopus, while restaurants above will prepare whatever you choose into sashimi and soup, usually for a small table or preparation fee per person. Prices are quoted by weight, so ask first, compare two or three stalls, and be ready to bargain lightly.
Some vendors are friendly and some are pushy, so a smile and a firm no both help. Cards are accepted in many places, but small stalls may prefer cash. Hours and market days may change.

- Local tip
- Pick live fish on the first floor, then eat it upstairs; ask the price per kilogram and any seating fee before you agree. Bargaining politely is normal, and carrying some cash helps.
