Gamcheon Culture Village 감천문화마을
Busan · Nampo-dong, Jagalchi & Yeongdo · Sights
Gamcheon is a hillside village of pastel houses stacked in steps toward the sea, and it began as a settlement for war refugees in the 1950s. An arts project revived it, and the neighborhood is now filled with murals, installations, small galleries and cafes. The statue of the Little Prince and the fox overlooking the village is the best-known photo spot.
Pick up a map at the information booth if you want to follow the stamp route, and treat the area as a living neighborhood, so keep noise down and stay on the marked paths. The walk is steep, and weekends bring crowds. Opening times of shops change.
Toseong Station (토성역), Line 1, Exit 6, then the village bus to the top; taxis from Nampo take about 15 minutes. (Show a driver: 감천문화마을)
