Gunja Village 안동 군자마을
Andong · Dosan Seowon & Yekki Village · Sights

These old houses of the Gwangsan Kim clan stood in Ocheon-ri until the dam flooded the valley, when they were moved up the slope and rebuilt. The name means 'village of gentlemen', after a scholar's remark that everyone in the village was a gentleman. Houses and pavilions such as Hujodang and Chimnakjeong step up the hillside, facing fields and ridges.
It has far fewer visitors than Hahoe, so the lanes feel calm and you can peek at the old layout of a noble clan's compound at your own pace. A slow walk takes about fifty minutes. Entry is free, and some buildings may be closed.
By car or taxi it is about 30 minutes from the old town on the way to Dosan; buses are rare. (Show a driver: 군자마을)
