Yi Yuk-sa Literature Museum 이육사문학관
Andong · Dosan Seowon & Yekki Village · Museums & exhibits

A museum devoted to the poet and independence activist known as Yuksa, whose pen name echoes his prison number 264. Born Yi Won-rok, he was a descendant of Toegye and wrote 'Wilderness' and 'Blue Grapes'. Manuscripts, photographs and a timeline show a life of repeated imprisonment ending in a Beijing jail.
The museum stands in his home village of Wonchon, with quiet lanes worth a short walk afterward. Allow an hour. Closed Mondays.
English panels may be limited, so ask about a leaflet.
