Dosan Seowon 도산서원
Andong · Dosan Seowon & Yekki Village · Sights

Toegye Yi Hwang, among the great Korean Confucian thinkers, taught his students here in his later years. The site includes a small study hall he planned himself, with a single room, a porch and a kitchen, and the academy his followers built after his death. The layout climbs by stages toward the shrine.
Together with Byeongsan Seowon it forms part of the UNESCO Seowon listing. The walk from the parking lot along the lake is part of the pleasure, and on the far bank you can spot a stone monument platform. A relaxed visit lasts around an hour and a half.
