Susanhang Mulhoe 수산항물회
Yangyang · Hajodae, Gisamun & Dongho · Meal
Jjaebok is a small shellfish found in these waters, and Susanhang makes it into mulhoe, soup and stews. It is the kind of unglamorous local specialty that rarely makes it onto tourist menus, and the clean sea flavour is worth trying. Mulhoe arrives cold, tangy and mildly spicy, a refreshing contrast on a hot day.
The dining room is plain, and the service is quick. Prices are moderate. It is closed on Wednesdays, and on weekends the room fills by noon.
If you are not sure about shellfish, ask what else is on the menu. It sits close to Dongho Beach, so it fits well into a day at the sea.
It is on Seonsa-yujeok-ro with a large lot in front; a taxi from Yangyang town is simplest. (Show a driver: 수산항물회)
