Jeseungdang is the historic site on Hansando where Admiral Yi Sun-sin established his naval headquarters and planned the Battle of Hansando. Today's buildings are later reconstructions, but the setting is moving, with a shrine, an archery ground, a turtle ship replica and an exhibition hall around a sheltered bay. You can reach it only by boat, with the ferry from Tongyeong taking about thirty minutes.

Budget around two hours on the island to match the sailing times. The ferry fare and entrance fee are separate and may change. A sunny morning crossing makes the whole trip feel like part of the story.

Getting there

Take the ferry from Tongyeong Passenger Ferry Terminal, about 30 minutes, then walk from the pier. (Show a driver: 제승당)
