Suncheon Utjang Market 순천웃장
Suncheon · Old Downtown, Drama Set & New Town · Shopping
Utjang is Suncheon's traditional market, a maze of covered stalls selling vegetables, fish, dried goods and ready food. A lane near the market is known for gukbap, rice served in a hot, rich broth, which is the classic breakfast of the area. Mornings are the best time, when stallholders arrange produce and locals shop, and the whole place hums.
You can taste samples, buy small snacks or just walk through. Things to buy include dried seaweed, seasoned side dishes and local snacks, which pack easily. Many stalls close in the afternoon, so do not leave it too late.
