Biseondae Rock Trail — Sokcho Seoraksan & Nohak-dong

A flat-to-gentle valley path leads from the temple area deeper into the mountain, following a clear stream between enormous granite walls. The walk to the rock formation known as Biseondae takes around an hour each way for most people, and the path is wide and mostly paved at first, which makes it a good choice if Ulsanbawi sounds too hard. You pass small bridges and pools that turn a vivid green in summer.

Facilities beyond the entrance are minimal, so bring water and snacks. If you want to go further, steeper routes continue into the park, but check weather and closure notices with the ranger station.

Getting there

Ride local bus 7 or 7-1 to the Seoraksan entrance (설악산소공원), then walk through the Sinheungsa Temple grounds and follow the signs for the valley path. (Show a driver: 비선대)
