Iho Tewoo Beach 이호테우해변
Jeju · Jeju City · Night view
A wide, quiet beach on the airport side of Jeju City, best known for two red-and-white horse-shaped lighthouses at the water's edge. Planes come in low over the sand every few minutes, which makes for a surprising backdrop at sunset, with orange sky, silhouetted horses and a jet gliding by. The water is shallow and calm, so families can paddle in summer, and there is a flat promenade for evening strolls.
Photography is the main draw rather than swimming, because the sea can be rocky at low tide. The beach is free, with public toilets and a handful of cafes and snack kiosks across the road.
It takes about 15 minutes by car from Jeju Airport and has a free public parking area. Buses from downtown also stop along the coastal road. (Show a driver: 이호테우해변)
