Dongmun Market & Night Market 동문시장·야시장

Jeju · Jeju City · Shopping

ShoppingFood & marketsShoppingNight viewsIndoor

The main covered market in Jeju City, where locals have shopped for generations, and the easiest place to sample island flavors without committing to a long meal. By day, stalls sell fresh fish, dried seafood, tangerines and sweet snacks made with millet and red bean. After dark, the night market section sets up food carts with grilled skewers, fried seafood and street desserts, and visitors wander with a plate in hand.

Pointing at what you want works everywhere. Tangerine chocolates and tea make good gifts, and shops can vacuum-pack fish for a flight. Check current prices and opening hours before you go.

Getting there

It is about 15 minutes by taxi from Jeju Airport and has a public parking building nearby, though weekend evenings are busy. Many city buses stop within a short walk of the market gates. (Show a driver: 동문시장·야시장)
