Jungmun Saekdal Beach 중문색달해수욕장
Jeju · Jungmun & Andeok · Parks & nature
A dark-sand beach with long waves, known for surf lessons and for sunset views over the Jungmun coast. Stairs lead down to the sand, and the beach sits below the resort hotels. Swimming areas open in summer, with lifeguards, and in other seasons the beach is quiet and windswept.
Surf schools run classes for beginners, so ask your hotel or the shop at the beach. It is free to enter, with showers and toilets near the entrance. Watch for strong waves and rip currents, and swim only in marked areas.
The slope down is steep, so older visitors may find it tiring.
It is about 55 minutes by car from Jeju Airport, with parking near the beach. Buses on the south coast route stop in Jungmun. (Show a driver: 중문색달해수욕장)
