A rest stop at the highest point of the 1100 road across the center of the island, with a small boardwalk loop through marshland and forest. At about 1,100 meters above sea level, the air is cooler than on the coast, and in winter the trees are coated with snow, creating a rare scene for Korea. On clear nights, stars shine over the rest area.

The boardwalk takes about 20 minutes, and a small shop sells hot drinks and snacks. The road can close in heavy snow, so check conditions in winter, and expect fog at any time of year. Entry is free.

Getting there

It is about 1 hour by car from Jeju Airport on the Hallasan road, with a free lot at the rest area. Bus 240 between Jeju City and Jungmun stops here. (Show a driver: 1100고지 습지)
