Jeongbang Falls 정방폭포
Jeju · Seogwipo & Namwon · Parks & nature
A waterfall that drops straight into the sea, one of very few of its kind in Korea. Take the stairs down from the entrance to a viewing platform at the base, from where you can see the white water against dark cliffs and the ocean behind. The steps are steep, so those with weak knees can enjoy a good view from the upper platform alone.
By the shore, local divers set up small stalls selling raw sea cucumber, abalone and other fresh seafood, which are simple to eat on the spot. A small ticket fee applies, and spray on windy days is common. Posted prices may rise, so budget a little extra.
It is about 75 minutes by car from Jeju Airport, with a parking lot at the entrance. Buses to downtown Seogwipo run frequently, and it is a short taxi ride from there. (Show a driver: 정방폭포)
