Bonte Museum 본태박물관
Jeju · Jungmun & Andeok · Museums & exhibits
A privately owned art museum designed by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando, with concrete walls, reflecting ponds and carefully framed views toward Sanbangsan. Inside, the collection mixes traditional Korean craft, such as furniture and ceremonial objects, with international contemporary pieces, and special rooms have featured immersive installations. The building is as much a reason to come as the art, since the corridors and courtyard are calm, minimalist and good for photos.
Visitor numbers are limited, so book online before the day. Allow about an hour and a half. Rates change from year to year.
It takes about 45 minutes by car from Jeju Airport and has its own parking lot. By bus, use a west-side route to Andeok and take a taxi for the final stretch. (Show a driver: 본태박물관)
