Hanagae Beach — Incheon Yeongjong & Muuido Islands
Photo: Korea Tourism Organization (KOGL)

Wide mudflats open up at low tide on this beach on Muuido island, where families dig for clams and kids chase crabs. When the tide returns, the beach turns into a tranquil seaside scene. A boardwalk trail runs out over the water and into the hills, with views of fishing boats and small islands.

The sand is soft and the mood is quieter than at Eurwangni. The island is reached by road over a bridge. Plan on two hours including the trail.

Facilities include restrooms and a few snack stands. Shoes with grip help on wet planks and mud. Fees for parking or the trail may apply and can change.

Getting there

Reach Muuido by bus or taxi from Incheon Airport; the beach is near the island's main road. (Show a driver: 하나개해수욕장)
