Poseokjeong Pavilion Site 포석정

Gyeongju · Namsan & Southwest · Sights

SightsHistory & palacesNature & parksOutdoor

A shaded grove holds the remains of a curved stone channel where Silla nobles reportedly floated cups of wine along the water while composing poems. That channel is nearly all that survives, so keep expectations modest and treat the visit as a short, quiet interlude, about forty minutes. Its appeal is the setting: big trees, birdsong and the legend attached to the place.

A small entrance fee applies and may change, and cards or cash are normally accepted. Because the site is small, it works best paired with Samneung forest or Oreung nearby. Summer shade is pleasant, and the paths are flat.

Getting there
