Geumjangdae Pavilion 금장대
Gyeongju · Namsan & Southwest · Night view
Overlooking the Hyeongsan River from a cliff, this old pavilion is a modest sight in daylight but gains drama at night, when colored lights wash over the rock face. Sunset and early evening are the best time, with warm summer breezes off the water. Walk the short path to the pavilion for the view, and consider crossing to the riverside wetland park for a view of the cliff itself.
It is free. Because public transport is inconvenient, a taxi is the simple way, and arrange your return ride in advance or use a taxi app. Plan on about fifty minutes in total.
By taxi, about 10 minutes from the bus terminal; then walk 10 minutes from the Geumjangdae parking lot. Buses are not convenient. (Show a driver: 금장대)
