Gyeongju Expo Park & Tower 경주엑스포대공원·경주타워
Gyeongju · Bulguksa, Seokguram & Bomun · Sights
The Expo grounds hold exhibition halls, gardens and Gyeongju Tower, a modern structure whose open frame echoes the lost nine-story wooden pagoda of Hwangnyongsa temple. A lift runs up to a viewpoint, and at night the tower is lit, making a quiet counterpart to the lakeside lights nearby. Exhibition and tower tickets are priced separately and may change, so check the booth.
The park is wide, with benches and lawns suited to families, and a walk through takes about an hour and a half. English information is likely at the main halls, but ask at the desk. Plan the visit in the afternoon, then wait for the lights.
Take bus 10 from downtown, about 35 minutes, to the Expo Park stop. A large lot is on site. (Show a driver: 경주엑스포대공원)
