Magoksa Solbaram-gil 마곡사 솔바람길
Gongju · Magoksa & Yugu · Parks & nature
A network of forest walking trails that start near Magoksa and wander through pine woods on the hillsides around it. The most popular is the first course, named after the independence leader Kim Gu, who is said to have sheltered at the temple; it takes roughly an hour and a half at an easy pace. The paths climb and descend moderately and the surface can be uneven, so wear proper shoes.
Few facilities exist along the way, so carry water. In return you get quiet air, the scent of pine and glimpses of the temple roofs from above. It is free to walk and suits hikers more than strollers.
It starts near the temple, which is about 40 minutes by taxi from Gongju; parking at the temple lot. (Show a driver: 마곡사 솔바람길)
