Anmok Coffee Street & Anmok Beach 안목 커피거리·안목해변
Gangneung · Anmok, Gangmun & Songjeong · Sights
Years ago, travelers bought cheap paper-cup coffee from a few vending machines on this stretch of shore, and the habit grew into a coffee street that now holds dozens of cafes. Most have windows facing the water, and some roast their own beans. The usual routine is to pick a cafe with a view, order a cup and then walk the beach or the breakwater with it.
Evenings are lively with strolling couples, and the sea sounds close by. Sunrise is also good here. Cafe quality varies, so choose one with many local customers.
Prices vary by shop.
From Gangneung Station (강릉역) it is about 15 minutes by taxi, or take a local bus to the Anmok stop. Parking is limited at weekends, so consider a taxi.
