Damyangho Yongmaru-gil Trail 담양호 용마루길

Damyang · Metasequoia Road, Damyang Lake & Geumseong Fortress · Parks & nature

Parks & natureNature & parksPhoto spotsOutdoorPet-friendly

This is a gentle walk beside the Damyang reservoir, starting at the national tourist area below the dam and following the water's edge. The scenery is lake and mountain: the rocky Chuwolsan ridge rises behind the water and mirrors itself in the surface on still mornings. The path is suitable for most ages, and benches and viewpoints make short breaks easy.

Sections of the lakeside trail are due for repair work reported for a future year, so some stretches may be closed. Bring a jacket in cool seasons, as the wind off the water is strong. It is an easy way to enjoy nature without a long climb, and it fits neatly with a lakeside meal.

Getting there

It is a car or taxi ride north of Damyang town, about 30 minutes. Park at the tourist area below the dam. (Show a driver: 담양호 용마루길)
