Nami Island 남이섬
Chuncheon · Kim Yu-jeong & Gangchon · Sights

A small island in the river formed by a dam, Nami Island is known for its avenues of metasequoia and ginkgo trees, a TV drama that made it popular in Asia and a calm, walkable park atmosphere. Although it lies in Chuncheon on the map, the ferry departs from the Gapyeong side, so you reach it from Gapyeong Station. The ferry takes only a few minutes, and the entrance ticket usually includes the boat.
On the island you can walk, cycle or take a rental vehicle, with cafes, small galleries and picnic spots. Plan around half a day. Autumn is the most colorful and the most crowded, and prices can change.
From Gapyeong Station on the Gyeongchun Line, a taxi or bus takes about five minutes to the wharf, followed by a short ferry ride; paid parking is at the wharf. (Show a driver: 남이섬)
