Silbi Makguksu 실비막국수

Chuncheon · Soyanggang River & Geunhwa-dong · Meal

MealFood & marketsIndoor

This noodle restaurant has been on the slope of Soyang Pass for many years, and locals know it as a place where the makguksu comes topped with seasoning rather than soaked in sauce. The Chuncheon way is to pour in the cold broth a little at a time, tasting as you go, until the flavor suits you. Alongside the noodles you may be served a small portion of seasoned vegetables and a side of kimchi.

The shop is simple and the staff move quickly, and it fills with office workers at noon. It is not a sightseeing destination so much as an everyday meal in the style of the city. Menu prices and closing times at this shop are best confirmed at the door.

Getting there

It is about a 10-minute walk uphill from Myeongdong along the Soyang Pass road. Parking in front is tight, so walking is easier. (Show a driver: 실비막국수)
