Jangssi Haenyeo House Yeonhwa-ri 장씨해녀집 연화리본점
Busan · Gijang & Songjeong · Meal
Yeonhwa-ri is a small fishing village on the Gijang coast, and its restaurants serve what the local divers, known as haenyeo, bring up from the sea that day. This shop is one of the best-known, with a plate of mixed shellfish, sea snails, sea cucumber and sometimes raw octopus, plus rich abalone porridge as a gentle finish. Window seats overlook the water, so the first diners get the best views.
Prices rise with the catch, and the bill can be high for a group. Seasonal seafood varies, and portions are large, so share. Cards are generally accepted, though a bit of cash may help.
