Oseosan Mountain 오서산
Boryeong · Cheonbuk, Cheongso & Oseosan · Parks & nature
A mountain of roughly 790 meters that rises above the plains of northwestern Chungnam. In autumn the ridge is covered in silvergrass that glows in the late sun, which is the main reason for the climb. Several trails lead up, from steady to steep, and the summit gives a wide view over farmland and, on clear days, the sea.
A car is needed to reach the trailheads, and facilities are basic. Allow three to four hours round trip, start early, and carry water, snacks and a windproof layer because the ridge is exposed. Hikers rarely meet crowds except on autumn weekends.
Check the weather before you commit.
By car about 50 minutes from Daecheon Station, then take a trail from the nearby parking area. (Show a driver: 오서산)
