Daecheon Port Fish Market 대천항수산시장
Boryeong · Daecheon Beach & Daecheon Port · Shopping

This is the working seafood market of Daecheon's fishing port, where small shops sell live fish, crabs, shellfish and dried goods. Seasonal specialties include blue crab in spring and autumn, sea bream and flounder in winter, and shrimp in autumn. Locals buy fish here to eat at home or at one of the raw-fish restaurants upstairs.
Foreign visitors often feel nervous about haggling, but prices are normally marked and staff will weigh items in front of you. Bring cash as a backup and a small cooler if you plan to carry seafood back. The market is lively in the morning when boats come in and again at dinner time when families come to eat.
It is beside Daecheon Port, about 10 to 15 minutes by taxi from Daecheon Station, and a short drive from the main beach. (Show a driver: 대천항수산시장)
