After the main station moved to Songhyeon-dong in late 2020, the former station building in the old town was turned into a cultural space. The 1942 in the name points back to the early days of the railway line. The old waiting hall now hosts exhibits and events, and an old water tower used for steam locomotives stands in the yard.

It is a place for railway memories, especially for older visitors. Entry is free and a visit takes about forty minutes. English panels may be limited.

Note that today's trains stop elsewhere.

Getting there

It is in the old town beside Talchum Park; a 15-minute walk from Jjimdak Alley. (Show a driver: 중앙선1942안동역)
