Hahoe Byeolsin-gut Mask Dance Performance 하회별신굿탈놀이 상설공연
Andong · Hahoe Village & Byeongsan Seowon · Fun & activities
Passed down for centuries as part of village rituals, this masked play satirizes nobles, scholars and a hypocritical monk through humor and dance. It is a National Intangible Heritage item, and Korean mask dance has been recognized by UNESCO. The performance combines drums, a pipe, acrobatic steps and stock characters, and the story is easy to follow through gesture even if you miss the Korean jokes.
A show runs about an hour, normally in the afternoon on most days except Mondays. In 2026 a temporary venue with limited seating may be in use, with no strollers, so arrive early. Confirm the day's schedule at the ticket office.
Performances are inside Hahoe Village, reached by the free shuttle from the entrance; check the board at the ticket office. (Show a driver: 하회마을)
