Andong Soju Traditional Food Museum 안동소주전통음식박물관
Andong · Downtown & Old Market · Museums & exhibits

Andong soju is a traditional distilled grain spirit, and this small museum is attached to a distillery run by the family of a certified master of the craft. Exhibits walk through the steps of fermenting rice, distilling with a traditional still and aging the liquor. Reconstructed ceremonial dining tables show how the elite fed their guests.
A tour takes under an hour. At the shop you can taste and buy bottles of different strengths, including a strong spirit around 45 percent that has a rich aroma. If you drive, keep a designated driver.
Staff may speak little English, and tasting rules vary, so ask first.
It is on the south side of the river, about 10 minutes by taxi from the old town. (Show a driver: 안동소주전통음식박물관)
