Yeongnu Pavilion (Yeongholu) — Andong Downtown & Old Market
Photo: Korea Tourism Organization (KOGL)

A traditional pavilion rising above the south bank of the river, associated with the Goryeo king Gongmin, who took refuge in Andong. It is counted among the region's celebrated riverside pavilions, though the current structure is a modern concrete reconstruction after repeated floods. What you come for is the setting: the view across the river toward the old town and the bridge, and at night the lights reflected on the water.

Compared with Woryeonggyo it is much calmer, so it suits a slower evening. The grounds are free, and there are benches along the embankment path.

Getting there

From the old town cross the river by taxi, about five minutes, or walk along the embankment from Talchum Park. (Show a driver: 영호루)
