Mokseong-dong Cathedral 목성동 주교좌성당

Andong · Downtown & Old Market · Sights

SightsHistory & palacesPhoto spotsOutdoor

Standing on a rise at the edge of the old town, this is the seat of the Catholic diocese of Andong. A tidy bell tower rises above the roofs, and from the yard you can see across the downtown rooftops toward distant hills. Visitors are welcome to admire the outside and the grounds in a calm way, and most stay twenty or thirty minutes.

Surrounding lanes mix older churches and houses and give a glimpse of the city's modern history. Keep voices low and avoid entering during services. Afternoon sun lights the front of the building well for photos.

It is a quiet stop on foot between the market and Ungbu Park.
