Santon Tofu Village (Sanchon Dubu Maeul) 산촌두부마을
Yangyang · Yangyang Town & Namdaecheon · Meal
Tofu country is a good phrase for this part of Gangwon, and Sanchon serves soft sundubu in a spicy dried-pollack broth, tofu patties in a galbi style, and a communal tofu hotpot. The tofu is made on site, with a clean, gently sweet taste that mellows spicy sauces. It is among the easiest meals in town for children and older travellers, because nothing is hard to chew and the mild options are many.
Service is brisk and portions are generous, with rice and banchan on the side. Prices are moderate. Because the kitchen closes in mid-afternoon, plan lunch rather than dinner, and note that menu items can change.
It is on Guncheong-gil in Yangyang town with its own car park, within walking distance of the market. (Show a driver: 산촌두부마을)
