Yangyang Traditional Market 양양전통시장
Yangyang · Yangyang Town & Namdaecheon · Shopping

Yangyang's market is a real local one rather than a tourist set, so the pleasure is wandering. On the five-day market days, those ending in 4 and 9, stalls spill into the lanes and the whole street feels busier. You will find fresh fish, dried seafood, mountain greens, rice cakes and, in autumn, pine mushrooms, the region's famous prize.
Fried chicken gangjeong shops cluster nearby and make an easy snack. Prices are posted or negotiable at some stalls, and cash is easy, though many shops take cards. Allow an hour, more if you plan to eat in the lanes.
It also works well on a rainy day, because much of it is covered.
It is in Yangyang town, a short walk from Yangyang Bus Terminal; a public market car park is nearby. This is the easiest stop for anyone arriving without a car. (Show a driver: 양양전통시장)
