Noryangjin Fish Market 노량진 수산시장
Seoul · Yeouido & Han River · Meal
Noryangjin is Seoul's main fish market, where tanks of live seafood fill a huge hall. The usual method is to pick fish or shellfish at a stall downstairs, agree on a weight and price, and then carry it up to one of the restaurants above, which cook and serve it for a fee. Raw fish, grilled fish and spicy stews are all available.
Because prices are negotiated, confirm the total cost and the cooking fee before you order. The floors are wet, so wear closed shoes. Hours may change, and the market is busy in the evenings.
Getting there
Noryangjin Station (노량진역), Lines 1 and 9, Exit 1, leads over a footbridge to the market entrance.
