Namsan Sowol-gil Cafes 남산 소월길 카페
Seoul · Myeongdong & Namsan · Cafe
Sowol-gil is the road that winds along the western flank of Namsan, and a handful of cafes along it take advantage of the view. From their windows or terraces you can look over the roofs of the city, with the Han River and the hills behind. They are quieter than the cafes downtown, and a pot of tea or a coffee fits nicely between a hike and dinner.
Choices include small family-run places and larger roasteries, so prices vary. Reaching them involves a short hill, so wear comfortable shoes or take a taxi. Some cafes close early or on certain days, so check the opening times.
The area is also pleasant for an evening walk once the lights come on.
From Myeongdong Station (명동역), Line 4 Exit 3, walk uphill for about twenty minutes, or take Namsan loop bus 01 or a taxi to Sowol-gil.
