Hadongkwan Myeongdong 하동관 명동

MealFood & marketsHistory & palacesIndoor

Hadongkwan is a restaurant devoted to a single comfort dish, gomtang, a clear beef soup simmered for hours and served with rice and kimchi. The broth is gentle, with a deep beef flavor and few spices, and a spoonful of rice can be dropped in to soak it up. The staff move quickly, tables are tight, and diners often leave within a short time.

Because it closes when ingredients run out, it is smart to go earlier. Prices and hours may change, and there may be a closing day, so check before setting out.

Getting there

Euljiro 1-ga Station (을지로입구역), Line 2, is about a five-minute walk. Myeongdong Station (명동역), Line 4, is also close.
