Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park 여의도 샛강생태공원

Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park is a long, narrow strip of wetland along a side channel of the Han River, left as a haven for birds and insects. A boardwalk and dirt trail run through willows and reeds, and bridges cross the stream at several points. The atmosphere feels far from the towers surrounding it, and the shade makes it cooler than other parks in summer.
Birdwatchers come in winter and in migration seasons. Bring insect repellent in warm months, and wear shoes you do not mind getting dusty. The trail is flat but long.
Benches are scattered along the route. Some paths close after heavy rain, and hours may change.
Saetgang Station (샛강역), Line 9, is near the park. Yeouido Station (여의도역) is also a short walk from the eastern end.
